Tecnología en los audífonos

Cuando empezamos a informarnos sobre los audífonos, lo primero que nos llega es que existen dos tipos bien definidos de aparatos, los analógicos y los digitales.

Estos términos ya no nos suenan raros porque hemos sufrido el cambio en nuestros televisores que funcionaban en analógico y ahora funcionan a través de TDT(digital). Al igual que con la televisión el procesamiento analógico tenderá a desaparecer.

Todos los audífonos tiene una misma base de funcionamiento, el sonido captado por unos micrófonos es transformado y amplificado para llevarlo hasta un receptor (altavoz), lo que variara será la forma de llevarlo hasta el oído del usuario.

 

Tecnología analógica – Sistema convencional

Los sonidos captados por los micrófonos son convertidos en una señal eléctrica que será transformada y amplificada por unos circuitos para poder ser captada por el usuario. Manipularla en exceso podría provocar la aparición de ruidos o distorsiones del sonido inicial perjudicando la calidad de la audición.

Se entendería que hemos hecho una fotocopia ampliada de un sonido, pero siempre la calidad del original es superior a la copia.

Los pocos retoques que permiten, impiden ser adaptados a todos los tipos de pérdidas auditivas que existen.

Tecnología digital – Sistema moderno ( OTICON a partir de 1996)

Los sonidos captados por los micrófonos son convertidos en una señal digital que es leída y modificada mediante los ordenadores para llegar a una señal analógica que pueda ser oída por el usuario. Esta copia que se obtiene no pierde nada de la calidad del original y puede ser repetida infinitamente sin distorsiones.

Es como si la imagen hubiese sido escaneada y obtuviéramos a partir de ella todas las copias que quisiéramos sin estropear el original.

Con el avance de la tecnología en procesadores, cada vez más pequeños y veloces, las diferencias entre ambas tecnologías se ha disparado, quedando la analógica completamente desfasada.

El tamaño y calidad de sonido alcanzado se combina con las nuevas tecnologías  para mejorar aún más las sensaciones del usuario en los distintos ambientes en los que nos movemos a lo largo del día, adaptándose automáticamente sin que tengamos que intervenir manualmente.
