Terapia de reentrenamiento de Acúfenos (Tinnitus)

Los avances en las investigaciones sobre el tinnitus han aportado nuevas y variadas formas de terapia. La Terapia de Reentrenamiento del Tinnitus es una de ellas.

La Terapia de Reentrenamiento de Tinnitus o Acúfenos (TRT) consiste en aprender a sobrellevar el tinnitus tanto consciente como subconscientemente. Esta técnica ha ayudado a muchas personas.

Esta terapia se puede comparar con el sonido de las gotas de lluvia sobre el tejado, al comenzar a llover se perciben perfectamente, pero pasado un rato se hacen imperceptibles y nuestra mente las ignora.

La TRT requiere una estrecha cooperación entre los profesionales en audición. La terapia se aplica en el lugar donde se percibe el tinnitus, y se intenta reeducar al cerebro para que lo ignore.

El método TRT combina tres pasos terapéuticos principales:

  1. Recopilación exhaustiva de información sobre el paciente, su historial y sus hábitos de vida.
  2. Utilización de unos aparatos, colocados tras el oído, que generan un ruido estable de banda ancha para desviar la atención del paciente del tinnitus.
  3. Terapia psicológica para enseñar al paciente a ignorar el ruido del tinnitus. Esto se combina con ejercicios de relajación total y control del estrés. El objetivo es eliminar la ansiedad del paciente, con lo que el tinnitus se deja de percibir como un peligro, y así se evita que el paciente se concentre en el ruido del tinnitus.

Como en muchas de las terapias que se están probando el objetivo final es habituarse totalmente al ruido no eliminarlo.
